The first number of the Jumbobog came on June 1, 1968, and was distributed by the former Gutenberghus, later on called Egmont Serieforlaget also known as Egmont Creative or ECN.
The books were initially produced and printed in Italy by the Italian publishing company, Arnoldo Mondadori in Verona.
Since the printing process at that time could only print in colors on one side of the paper, the book ended up shifting between 2 pages in color and 2 pages in black/white.
